Noël DOLLA

Born in 1945, in Nice, France where he currently lives and works
A prolific artist, Noël Dolla is one of the most important living artists on the French and international scene. He participated in the creation of the artistic movement Supports/Surfaces, which was one of the founding groups of French contemporary art.
For more than forty years, the artist has tirelessly explored pictorial practice, moving his work into unexpected fields of investigation. Noël Dolla likes to work on what he calls his “household side”, using modest and familiar objects which are those of the most trivial everyday life: floor cloths, handkerchiefs, rooster feathers, tarlatan, fishing lures… The artist pushes us to question our way of looking, forcing us to approach painting in a multiplicity of available spaces.
