Cathryn BOCH
France

Born in 1968, in Strasbourg, France
Lives and works in Marseille, France
Cathryn Boch uses road maps, aerial views, topographic surveys and all the iconography of the location, measurement and recording of the territories we inhabit and in which we act as raw material for her works. Her militant, radical cartographies attempt to make visible the tensions of a world shaken by various societal, political and ecological earthquakes.
Using her sewing machine, the artist draws lines that pierce the supports and invade the surfaces with threads so that a history is made, a temporality is established and new territories are opened up, carrying deep memories, resistances and vast hopes.
