Iryna MAKSYMOVA

Iryna MAKSYMOVA

Born in 1991 in Kolomyia, Ukraine.
Lives and works in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Navigating between domestic settings and mythological scenes, Iryna Maksymova creates her own interpretation of human emotions and raises her personal wave of protest against inequality. Through the overt sexuality of women, the artist juxtaposes people with animals, identifying them and offering her new perspective on today’s popular issues of animal rights and sexism. All her works are projections of her inner feelings and personal experiences, expressed through dynamically chaotic compositions, merging patterns, and canvas themes. Using a combination of pastel colors and bold brushstrokes, Iryna makes elements of nature more vivid and vibrant, creating an even more fantastical reality.
