Arthur MUZO

Born in 1994 in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Lives and works in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Arthur Muzo is an emergent Kyiv-based artist who reinterprets everyday images in his works and gives them a new meaning. The artist uses unusual materials and tools, such as plaster and nails, to convey his ideas as clearly as possible.

His latest series of works was inspired by the walls of torture chambers where prisoners left their names, messages, prayers and personal information. The walls of the stairwells of apartment buildings, scratched by unknown people. Ancient graffiti, petroglyphs. The very fact of a person’s desire to leave a trace in the history of being in this place, albeit in such a primitive way.

“For me, art is a reflection of the conditions and time period in which the creator lives, a kind of a documentary.” — says Arthur.
