Artem PROOT

Born in 1987 in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine.
Lives and works in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Artem Proot started his career because of his passion for street art in high school. He started drawing at a young age and went through many metamorphoses in his style. In the first stage of his artistic career, he was a representative of the lowbrow and futurism movements. In the second, he focused on everyday themes, the environment and objects that make up our lives. His style, which leans towards constructivism and mixes with naïve elements, is based on color and texture. Sports grounds, exteriors, interiors, landscapes and other themes depicted by the artist carry a variety of meanings and a wide range of emotions. Artem says that he likes it when art offers many meanings and gives the viewer food for thought. Although there may be something specific portrayed in the painting, it’s good when a person finds something of their own in the piece, it means that it is “working”.
